NewBrick announced as Presenting Sponsor of the DAP Championship

NewBrick® Announced as Presenting Sponsor for the Web.com Tour Finals event at Canterbury Golf Club

CLEVELAND, Ohio (May 31, 2018) – Tournament officials introduced NewBrick® by Dryvit® as presenting sponsor of the Web.com Tour Finals event played at Canterbury Golf Club in Cleveland. The tournament, which will be contested the week of August 27-September 2, 2018, will be renamed the DAP Championship presented by NewBrick, with a new logo

“We are thrilled to expand our corporate partnerships and welcome another first-class company and industry leader to our family,” said Tournament Director Kevin Krisle.  “We look forward to working with DAP, NewBrick, the community and all of our partners to continue growing this international event as the golfers continue on their path to the PGA TOUR.”

As one of four PGA TOUR-sanctioned events played annually in the state of Ohio (the Memorial Tournament, World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship), the DAP Championship presented by NewBrick has been a welcome addition to the Web.com Tour Finals schedule.  Since the tournament’s inception in 2016, a total of 17 PGA TOUR tournaments have been won by players that have competed in the DAP Championship presented by NewBrick, including 2016 champion Bryson DeChambeau, who earned his first TOUR title at the John Deere Classic last July.

“Partnering with the Web.com Tour and the DAP Championship is a terrific opportunity for NewBrick by Dryvit,” said Mike Murphy, President and CEO of Dryvit Systems, Inc. “It is exciting for us to be participating in a world-class global event that will allow us an opportunity to showcase our brand, while supporting The LeBron James Family Foundation.”

In just two years since the tournament began, the DAP Championship presented by NewBrick has raised more than $447,000 to support The LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF).  With its mission to help students achieve their dreams through education, LJFF’s support for these students begins early in their elementary journey and continues through high school and into college, where the Foundation has guaranteed all eligible students four-year college scholarships. Soon, all of LJFF’s interventions, incentives, and “We Are Family” philosophy will culminate in the fall 2018 opening of the I PROMISE School, a brand-new Akron public school that will provide wrap around support for LeBron’s I PROMISE students and their families.

“Through our partnership with DAP and RPM, a Cleveland-based company, along with the incredible efforts of The LeBron James Family Foundation, the DAP Championship has been able to create a tremendous impact in the Cleveland area in two short years,” said Web.com Tour President Dan Glod. “We are excited to welcome another RPM company, NewBrick, as presenting sponsor for this event as we look to continue that success in 2018.”

The 2018 DAP Championship will be played over Labor Day weekend, with approximately 130 players competing for a guaranteed $1 million purse. The field will be comprised of the 75 leading Web.com Tour money winners at the conclusion of the Regular Season and those players who finish Nos. 126-200 in the FedExCup, minus players who have secured status for the 2018-19 season.

DAP Championship makes $224,023 charitable donation to

The LeBron James Family Foundation’s efforts in Akron

The 2018 DAP Championship to return to Northeast Ohio Labor Day weekend

CLEVELAND, Ohio (February 12, 2018) – The DAP Championship, Cleveland’s Web.com Tour Finals event, has announced a charitable donation of $224,023 from the 2017 tournament to The LeBron James Family Foundation. Ron Rice, President and Chief Operating Officer of DAP’s parent company, RPM International, presented Michele Campbell, Executive Director of The LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF), with the donation during a recent Hometown Hall meeting hosted by LJFF at East CLC High School in Akron. In just two years since the tournament began, the DAP Championship has raised more than $447,000 to support The LeBron James Family Foundation.

“After partnering with The LeBron James Family Foundation in anticipation of the DAP Championship, I was humbled by the Foundation’s mission and goals,” said Rice. “We are honored to support the Foundation and the Fall 2018 opening of the I PROMISE School for the public school students in Akron. The LJFF team are true Champions and we are thrilled to be part of their wonderful family.”

The funds raised from this year’s event will help the Foundation continue to provide resources, support, and enriching experiences for the more than 1,200 Akron Public School students and their families currently in its I PROMISE program. With its mission to help students achieve their dreams through education, LJFF’s support for these students begins when they enter 3rd grade and continues through high school and into college, where the Foundation has guaranteed all eligible students four-year college scholarships. Soon, all of LJFF’s interventions, incentives, and “We Are Family” philosophy will culminate in the Fall 2018 opening of the I PROMISE School, a brand new Akron Public School that will provide wrap around support for LeBron’s I PROMISE students and their families.

“The support of the DAP Championship and their incredible team has been a game changer for our Foundation,” said Campbell. “Not only do their contributions help us provide the support our kids desperately need, but their partnership and passion for our mission has created opportunities for our students that we couldn’t offer on our own. More than partners, they’ve become part of our family and we are so thankful for their generosity and support.”

The 2017 DAP Championship, held in September at Canterbury Golf Club, was won in a three-man playoff by Nicholas Lindheim. The victory returned Lindheim to the PGA TOUR for the 2017-2018 season. Since its inception in 2016, players who have competed in the DAP Championship have gone on to win a total of 14 PGA TOUR tournaments, including 2016 DAP champion, Bryson DeChambeau’s win at the 2017 John Deere Classic.

“As part of the Web.com Tour Finals, the DAP Championship has become a great test for the game’s next wave of PGA TOUR stars, thanks to storied Canterbury Golf Club serving as a tremendous venue each year. Through our partnership with DAP and Cleveland-based RPM, this event is making a positive community impact for the LeBron James Family Foundation,” said Dan Glod, President of the Web.com Tour.

The DAP Championship will return to Canterbury Golf Club in 2018 over Labor Day weekend, August 30 – September 2. The 2018 tournament will be the second of the four events in the season-ending Web.com Tour Finals, where a second set of 25 PGA TOUR cards are awarded. The field will include approximately 150 players, comprised of the 75 leading Web.com Tour money winners at the conclusion of the Regular Season and those players who finish Nos. 126-200 in the FedExCup and are not otherwise exempt on the PGA TOUR in 2018-19.

PGA TOUR AND ITS TOURNAMENTS DONATE A RECORD OF MORE THAN $166 MILLION FOR CHARITABLE CAUSES IN 2016

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL (January 25, 2017) – The PGA TOUR and its tournaments donated more than $166 million to charitable causes in 2016. This record-breaking total includes donations made by tournaments on the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, Web.com Tour, Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada, PGA TOUR China and PGA TOUR Latinoamérica. The announcement was made today, during a press conference at the Farmers Insurance Open with PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan, by Bob Steber, a volunteer at the tournament who has missed only one day in 50 years of volunteering.

The announcement brings the all-time total generated for charity by the PGA TOUR to $2.46 billion since the first-ever charitable contribution of $10,000 was made by the 1938 Palm Beach Invitational. Of that total, more than $1.4 billion has come since the TOUR surpassed the $1-billion plateau in 2005. The $2-billion mark was passed in January 2014.

“The record-breaking charitable donations are due to the hard work and selfless efforts of many and will ensure that numerous lives continue to be positively impacted in the communities where we play,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. “PGA TOUR fans, tournaments, players, sponsors and volunteers together all helped make this possible.”

In 2016, four PGA TOUR events raised more than $10 million for charity -- the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, Valero Texas Open, DEAN & DELUCA Invitational and the John Deere Classic. In addition, the Waste Management Phoenix Open generated more than $9 million for charity.

The PGA TOUR’s flagship event, THE PLAYERS Championship, generated $8.5 million in 2016, a large portion of which benefits local children’s charities as part of the tournament’s commitment to generate $50 million for youth-related charities over 10 years. Since that commitment was made in April of 2011, more than $38 million has been raised toward that goal. The event is dedicated to making a significant financial impact on local non-profits that promote youth education, health and wellness and character development.

There were eight PGA TOUR Champions events that donated more than $1 million to charity, including the Shaw Charity Classic which was over $4 million. Three Web.com Tour events generated more than $1 million, including the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational, which led the Web.com Tour with donations of more than $1.7 million.

Unlike other professional sports organizations, the PGA TOUR relies on more than 100,000 volunteers annually to run its tournaments, and the vast majority of its tournaments are structured as non-profit organizations designed to donate 100 percent of net proceeds to charity. Community beneficiaries include a wide variety of organizations including hospitals, youth development organizations, growth-of-the-game programs and food banks.

DAP Championship Makes $223,000 Charitable Donation to The LeBron James Family Foundation

CLEVELAND, Ohio (December 6, 2016) – The inaugural DAP Championship, Cleveland’s Web.com Tour Finals event, has announced a charitable donation of $223,000 to the tournament’s primary charitable beneficiary, The LeBron James Family Foundation.  Ron Rice, President and Chief Operating Officer of DAP’s parent company, RPM International, presented Michele Campbell, Executive Director of The LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF), with the donation during the LJFF’s monthly Hometown Hall, which took place December 1 at East CLC High School in Akron.

“After partnering with The LeBron James Family Foundation in anticipation of the DAP Championship, I was humbled by the Foundation’s mission and goals,” said Ron Rice.  “We are honored to support the Foundation and the championship-caliber work they do throughout the Northeast Ohio community.”

The funds raised from this year’s event will help the Foundation continue to provide resources, support, and enriching experiences for the more than 1,100 Akron Public School students currently in its Wheels for Education and Akron I PROMISE Network programs. With its mission to help students achieve their dreams through education, LJFF’s support for these students begins when they enter 3rd grade and will continue through high school and into college, where the Foundation has guaranteed all eligible students four-year college scholarships through a partnership with The University of Akron.

“We are so grateful for not only the generous contribution the DAP Championship has made to our kids, but also for their partnership in helping us support these students and their dreams,” said Michele Campbell, Executive Director of the LeBron James Family Foundation. “We know that if we want to have a real, meaningful impact on these kids’ and their families’ lives, that takes 24/7 support, 365 days a year so it’s a long-term commitment that we could not fulfill without the support of our local partners like the DAP Championship.”

Regarding the donation, LeBron James added via Twitter, “WOW…Unbelievable.  Huge thank you to Ron, Jon, Cam, Kelly, & the entire DAP Champ team. #WeAreFamily #StriveForGreatness.”

The 2016 DAP Championship, held September 5-11 at Canterbury Golf Club, was won in a four-man playoff by Bryson DeChambeau.  The victory earned DeChambeau his PGA TOUR card for the 2016-2017 season.  DeChambeau, who played collegiate golf at Southern Methodist University, is one of five players in history to win the U.S. Amateur and NCAA Championship individual title in the same year, along with Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Ryan Moore.

“The inaugural DAP Championship was a fantastic way to start the 2016 Web.com Tour Finals with Bryson DeChambeau emerging from a four-way playoff to raise the trophy and earn his PGA TOUR card,” said Dan Glod, Chief Operating Officer of the Web.com Tour.  “Today's charitable announcement solidifies the tournament's commitment to making a significant impact within the Northeast Ohio community and provides a strong foundation for the future."

The 2017 DAP Championship will return to Canterbury Golf Club September 21-24.  The 2017 tournament will be played as the third event of the four that make up the annual Web.com Tour Finals, and The LeBron James Family Foundation will remain the tournament’s primary charitable beneficiary.  The field will include approximately 150 players, comprised of the 75 leading Web.com Tour money winners at the conclusion of the Regular Season and those players who finish Nos. 126-200 in the FedExCup and are not otherwise exempt on the PGA TOUR in 2017-18.

The DAP Championship is run by Cleveland-based Milestone Sports Management (MSM), which is responsible for all sales, marketing, and operations of the event. By spearheading the movement to bring the Web.com Tour Finals to Cleveland, MSM has put a strong focus on its consulting and business development practices in an effort to connect both the community and the charitable efforts of The LeBron James Family Foundation, while bringing PGA TOUR golf back to Northeast Ohio.
